Bed and Breakfast Lake District

This is our story so far of running a B&B in the English Lake District.

We fell in love with Low House six years ago, it had been on the market for some time and was very run down. We would drive past daily dreaming of what we would do with it, and eventually got our offer accepted and found ourselves the proud owners of a large money pit, a long way off being capable of accepting discerning paying guests!

Nine months later, and the hell of juggling an 18 month old daughter, and a 17th century country house, coupled with the semi destruction of said house and the endless relay of builders, plumbers, electricians, decorators, carpet fitters, curtain / upholstery makers and the so called experts in establishing a successful Lakeland B&B, had us on our knees. Not only through exhaustion but in front of the bank manager as well.

Suddenly there we were on the internet and in a holiday guide and the phone rang..
